The responsibility and commitment for successfully achieving
our company mission resides at the top level of corporate
management. This commitment is exemplified in our Quality
Management Program, which helps to ensure that our objectives
for product, process and service quality meet or exceed
our internal and external customer expectations.
Fundamentals of
Our Quality Management Program
ISO 9001:2008
|
The quality system
at General Monitors has been third party certified since
1995, and serves as the foundation for our Quality Management
Program. Within the ISO framework, we believe there are
three elements, which provide the "glue" to
our system: management review, internal auditing and corrective
/ preventive action.
Product Assurance
|
General Monitors
designs quality and reliability into its products. The
key is cross-functional teamwork: engineering, manufacturing,
sales, marketing and quality. All new product designs
are fully tested and verified through coordination between
Engineering and Quality. Pilot and pre-production units
are then fully tested and all end-user requirements are
validated. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) techniques
are utilized for new and existing products as a continuous
improvement tool.
Metrics
|
General Monitors
believes that in order for a quality program to be managed,
it must be measured. In this respect, Corporate Quality
has developed a measurement system for each of the following
elements: production performance, product and service
quality, supplier quality, and customer satisfaction.
Each element has its own index. The customer satisfaction
index is comprised of metrics, which include on-time delivery,
customer survey responses, and customer complaints. General
Monitors utilizes an enterprise-wide software program
for the timely recording, tracking, and closure of complaints.
Training
|
The key to achieving
continuous improvement at all levels of the organization
is training. Employee development via education, in house
training, external training, and on-the-job training reinforces
our commitment to continuous improvement and helps to
provide the environment in which our employees can be
successful and take pride in their accomplishments. Certification
is also a focus; all technicians are trained and re-certified
to the latest standards, with an emphasis on soldering
and inspection.
Continuous Improvement
Culture |
Corporate Quality's
prime directive is to foster a continuous improvement
culture throughout the organization. General Monitors
believes that by continually improving personnel, processes
and products, we can consistently meet and exceed our
customers' expectations.
